I’ve put this blog together mainly as a way to keep myself engaged and to learn more about incident response and digital forensics in general. Hopefully, along the way some other folk might find it of some use too.
A little about me. My name is Gary Hunter and I spent most of my early working life doing general IT and network administration, system building and repairs.
A matter of chance found me working in Law Enforcement as a digital forensic analyst in the north of Scotland. This is where I spent much of my time analysing computers, mobile devices, CCTV systems, SATNav’s and anything else that stored digital media.
Roll on eight years and I’ve since left Law Enforcement, travelled the world and ended up in Australia. I now work as a manager in a small team in Sydney alongside some extremely knowledgeable forensic analysts and incident responders.
